Our Big Island Hawaiian Adventures, Part I

Aloha! So here's what we have so far... still not sleepy and with internet access, I decided to start our Hawaii blogging.

From the second we stepped out of the plane in Kailua-Kona the experience was perfect. The temperature was 85 degrees and NOT humid.

We made it to our hotel just in time to rest then go out for a sunset dinner

Because of the 3 hour time difference, our first morning there we were up at 630am Island Time so we had our whole day ahead of us... started off having Kona Coffee by the waves and a very yummy breakfast. This of course, would become the daily habit. Minus the 630am wake-up.

We drove to the Northern-most part of the island, where the road ends and there is a hike that goes down to the shore behind me here

We stopped by to see King Kamehameha on our way back...
Spent one of our days at Hapuna Beach, which claims to be one of "the top 10 beaches in the world" ... well it WAS a pretty awesome day on said beach.
Dan went surfing a few times. The surf was pretty good the first few days we were here.
We took one of the catamarans out for a day of snorkleing at Kaealakekua bay and Capt Cook's memorial. I enjoyed the day on the boat more than I did the snorkleing!

We spent our Wedding Anniversary in Kailua-Kona and had an amazing dinner with an amazing view in amazing weather! I can't believe that I am sporting this big ole baby bump just a year after our wedding... I'm pretty darn proud of it, though! (Of course, being such a Type-A person I have given the baby his own blog)

I love my husband. How did I get such a sweet, handsome husband?
It was pretty windy this day, but still as gorgeous
This is life, not sucking...

It doesn't have wheels, but Dano is still trying to ride it.
The first half of our vacation we explored the entire Kona coast, we went to the very north west tip to the southernmost point. There's lots to see and lots to do... you'd think we'd just stay in once place and get some sun... but somehow we can't seem to do that.

Dan ran the 10K during the annual Kona Marathon. He did really well! Go, number 976!!!

That's the first half of our trip... stay tuned for more adventures. Aloha!
