Club Mud

My good friend Emily celebrated her 21st birthday (again...) and a few of us went to Glen Ivy Spa for the day. It was the best idea ever for a birthday... I think I might have to steal that when MY birthday comes around!

The grounds were beautiful and it was not crowded at all. We almost had the place to ourselves.
Here's moi with Maureen, Emily and Sherina after we soaked in the mineral pools...
Then we headed into Club Mud. A separate area where you paint yourself with clay/mud which apparently pulls out impurities, tightens and moisturizes skin...
Actually, I was just happy to be getting muddy, period. Forget the moisturizing, it was fun to be rolling around in the mud, on purpose. I love mud! Only I'm usually riding on it on a bike! This was different and pretty cool...

We had a nice lunch and then we headed to another section called "The Grotto." This underground cave area where they lather you up with yet another substance (aloe and seaweed) and then you sit in these caverns that are also a sauna while the stuff soaks into your skin. They didn't let me take my camera inside there. Then you move into showers (still in caves) and rinse off. There was also an indoor waterfall. I swear I felt like I was in an Indiana Jones movie. I kept looking to find skulls and stuff...
THEN, after the grotto we went to the Roman pools. ... Sherina looks very much at home here...
When in Rome....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Emily!!! We love you!

When I grow up...

A first grade girl handed in the drawing above for a homework assignment. After the assignment was graded, the child brought it home and returned to school the next day with the following note addressed to her teacher:

Dear Ms. Davis,
I want to be very clear on my child's illustration. It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage at some strip joint. I work at Home Depot and had commented to my daughter how much money we made in the recent snowstorm. This picture is of me selling a shovel.

Dan's FURY

Last week Dano went to New York to launch Honda's 2010 FURY. This has been one of his biggest projects for the past 5 years and him and Bruno unveiled it at the New York Motorcycle show this past Jan 16-18th.

She's gorgeous

Great job Dan and Bruno! It's absolutely beautiful...
Here are the links to a couple video interviews Dan and Bruno did. They are also on the FURY website.

VinceClarkyBrowny 40th Birthday

It's coming around more and more often. Those 40th Bday parties... this time Dan and I went down to San Diego to the Gas Lamp district to celebrate the birthdays of our friends Vince, Clarky and Browny.

I must say, none of them look or act... their age. And this is a good thing!

Vince and Jenn. Such a beautiful couple! The girls put on a great party.

Dano with his buddy
The party scene... We were outdoors, in this big see-thru tent next to the pool. It was really cool!
Jenn and Nichole (in red) and one of their friends
Clarky, Vinnie and Browny each got their own cake

Somehow we were talked into walking down to the HardRock where some friends were staying. One can only imagine the possibilities....

Like I was saying... the possibilities. Dan and the boys were really getting down.
We couldn't keep up with them
They are so cute! With their little drinks and their little moves!
The party -as they often do- moved on to one of the rooms at the HardRock. I claimed this chair right away. Funky!

Marni obtained superpowers from her Vodka and could open elevator doors with her bare hands...
The Salazars. Jimmy...
And Marni. Featured in the weekend's (or the year's) BEST PICTURE EVER.
Alcohol is a won-der-ful drug, ain't it?

Thank for having us guys... We had a blast with you all!

New Year's Eve 2009 at the Hazen's

Welcome to 2009 everybody! This year Dan and I decided to keep things low-key but still spend it with good friends and have a great time... that we did.

Our friends John and Sheryl invited us, and Dean and Amber to their home.

These two are always so serious...
John cooked up a 7 course Tapas dinner that was just delicious. It just kept coming. And I was pretty sad when the food stopped coming. Thanks John!

Sheryl with Amber and Dean. The night did start out civilized and normal enough...
Amber challenged us all to a gun fight. I lost...

Many hours later things started to get a little out of control... Here's me on John's little boys' Finding Nemo car getting pushed across the floor...
Please note that I never spilled my wine!
Happy Neeeeeeeeeew Yeaaaaaaar! Whooooo
Amber looks way too comfortable in this car...
Wheeeeee!
The very sexy 2009 gang
No, the very crazy 2009 gang...

A few hours later we found ourselves at Amber and Dean's home for Bloddy Marys, Coffee and Mimosas
Dan and Amber lounge as Dean cooks breakfast and I refill drinks...
Cash, their dog. I love 'im!
Weeee! Happy New Year Sterling! He's getting so big!
Hope everyone had a wonderful night and a great start to the New Year!
